MAS PTA
"Be a good friend, the choice is yours!" The MAS motto is proudly embodied by our students, staff and families each day as we promote the growth of the whole child with an emphasis on Social Emotional Learning, Responsive Classrooms, and, of course, FUN!
Our students' classroom learning experiences are enriched through activities such as Pick A Reading Partner (PARP), Math Night, and our Health Fair, among many other exciting and educational assemblies, field trips and school-wide activities. Fun traditions new and old are hosted throughout the year, from our "welcome back" party in the fall and Spooktacular in October, to our springtime Family Picnic and end-of-year Carnival for students.
We believe strongly in creating meaningful and collaborative relationships with our students and familes. Values like perseverance, empathy, honesty and kindness are celebrated as we recognize our Citizens of the Month throughout the year. Our Fifth Grade Safety Patrol promotes responsibility and role modeling, along with intra-grade friendship and respect.
They say it takes a village - we know it takes a nation! Our "MAS Nation" benefits from an energetic and engaged PTA. The efforts of our parent volunteers and generosity of our community members help make assemblies, field trips and other memory-making opportunities possible. Devoted parent volunteers also run our chess club, kindness club and other opportunities for students to learn new skills and give back to the community. Our food pantry offers nutritious food and household items for families in need, and several committees - including our Cultural Awareness Committee and Allergy Committee - provide critical resources, education, and engagement opportunities for families.
We start our days on the playground with outdoor lineup, weather permitting, and we end our weeks with a healthy dose of fun. Every week at MAS ends with our beloved Fitness Friday tradition, where students and staff get up and dance their way into the weekend!
